India Forge was founded by the late Mr. K. C. Sood in 1960. He started his career as a metallurgist with Krupp in 1937, who were assisting the Tata's in establishing India's first steel plant. After a brief career with the Ordnance during World War II, he pioneered the forging industry in India and established India's first commercial forging plant in Calcutta.
India Forge started its first manufacturing unit in Chennai (Madras) in 1964 and has since expanded its operations to Pune, Faridabad (Near Delhi) and Rudrapur which are key automotive manufacturing centres in India. Over the years India Forge has evolved into a leading Tier - I manufacturer and supplier of automotive and defence components, subassemblies to the Original Equipment Manufacturers ("OEMs") for heavy vehicles and cars.
